During my transition process the teachers and staff at the Charlton School, DVR, DDDS and Ms. Cheryl from Kent-Sussex Industries (KSI) all worked together to make sure they knew what I wanted to do and how they could help me get the kind of job I wanted.
At first it was hard for me to find a job but Ms. Cheryl kept looking for me I wanted to work at Walmart but she thought I should work somewhere smaller. We found that Goodwill is a good fit for me.
I have worked part-time at Goodwill stocking shelves in housewares, books, shoes and clothes departments. I just got my ten-year pin. I want to keep working at Goodwill.
Goodwill offers training on the computer so I am making sure I take their classes.
I love to travel. I saved my money and took a trip to California and took a cruise. I want to go on more special trips like that in the next five years.
Some day I would like to move to Atlanta. Right now, I live in a group home apartment with two roommates. We have staff to help us when it is needed.
